🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 - We Remember.

Today, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the countless first responders who ran toward danger when others were running away.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and all those who served that day, as well as the responders who have continued to carry the physical and emotional scars of 9/11.

As members of the EMS community, we understand the call to serve, the importance of standing beside one another, and the courage it takes to answer when help is needed most.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

We’ve helped hundreds of families make sure their children are riding safely—and you can be next!

Our Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will:

✅ Check your child’s car seat for recalls
✅ Make sure the seat is appropriate for your child
✅ Ensure it is installed according to manufacturer specifications
✅ Help answer your car seat safety questions

⏱️ Each car seat check takes approximately 30–40 minutes.

📣🚑 Successful DPH/OEMS State Inspection! 🚨

Today, Northern Berkshire EMS successfully completed our annual inspection by the Department of Public Health (DPH), Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS). We are proud to share that the inspection resulted in no deficiencies! ✅🎉

This annual review ensures we continue to meet the highest standards in operations, pre-hospital patient care, training, education, and regulatory compliance. Receiving no deficiencies reflects our team's commitment to excellence and the exceptional care we provide every day.

A huge thank you to our incredible EMTs, AEMTs, Paramedics, Fleet Mechanics, administrative staff, and leadership whose professionalism, dedication, and teamwork made this achievement possible.

Thank you to the communities we serve for your continued trust and support. We are honored to serve you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

🚑🐢🐶 Serving Every Member of Our Community—Even the Four-Legged and Slow-Moving Ones!

Northern Berkshire EMS is known for providing lifesaving care to residents throughout Northwestern Massachusetts and Southern Vermont. This week, one of our providers stepped in to assist some members of the local animal population!

While traveling through the community, one of our crews spotted a turtle attempting to cross a busy section of roadway. To ensure our slow-moving friend made it safely across, Advanced EMT Trish Miller jumped into action and escorted it out of harm’s way.

Later that evening, a small dog escaped from a nearby yard and was running in the road in front of our North Adams Station. Once again, Trish stepped in and safely got the dog out of traffic. With help from our neighbors, the owners were contacted, and this furry friend was reunited with his family.

Great job, Trish! Whether they have two legs, four legs, or a shell, we are always happy to help members of our community! 💙

Another Successful Solid Sound Weekend!

This past weekend, Northern Berkshire EMS was proud to provide EMS coverage for the more than 12,000 visitors who attended the Solid Sound Festival at Mass MoCA.

Our dedicated team staffed an on-site EMS station in the heart of the festival, ensuring that attendees had immediate access to emergency medical care whenever it was needed. Beyond responding to medical emergencies, our crews helped keep festival-goers safe and comfortable by providing sunscreen, bug spray, ear plugs, hydration support, and cooling stations throughout the weekend.

Large community events like Solid Sound require extensive planning, preparation, and teamwork. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our outstanding partners at the North Adams Police Department, North Adams Fire Department, and Mass MoCA Security. Their professionalism, collaboration, and constant support throughout the weekend helped ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone in attendance.

Finally, thank you to our incredible EMTs, Advanced EMTs, Paramedics, and support staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the front lines. Your dedication and commitment to serving our community and its visitors is what makes events like this possible.
