Home Visitor Spotlight: Maria Diaz 🌟

For Maria, her work as a Healthy Families Program Coordinator at Criterion Child Enrichment is powerful and rewarding.

As a former participant in the Healthy Families program, Maria knows just how impactful having support can be during challenging moments of life. For the past 2 years, she has brought that same understanding to the families she works with in the Milford/Framingham area.

"My past experience as a participant played a lot into my current role. Showing families how beneficial having a support system, no matter how big or small, can go a long way."

Through every visit, Maria helps families feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward.

The Baby Animals Festival opens on April 18th!

Meet our newest farm babies – lambs, piglets, calves, chicks and kids (goats, that is). Enjoy events and activities throughout the Village including craft demonstrations, tours of the historic buildings, informative talks about the Shakers and explore the Farm & Forest Trail.

We also offer a very special BEHIND-THE-SCENES tour each day before the Village opens. Hop aboard our wagon hayride and take your hour-long tour and learn more about our farm from the farmers themselves. The tour will take you to see the animals in the Round Stone Barn, Dairy Ell, and barnyard where you’ll meet this year’s calves, lambs, kids, piglets, and chicks. Please note that only ONE tour will be given each day to a single group of up to 20 people. Tickets for the tour must be reserved in advance and sell-out fast.

Great Cape Bakery returns with their freshly made cider donuts as well as a variety of specialty sandwiches, soups, salads, kids' fare and more!

Open Daily April 18 - May 10, 11am to 4pm.

Every child’s future is shaped by the support around them 🧡

This Child Abuse Prevention Month, the theme Pinwheels of Possibility reminds us that strong families don’t exist in isolation — they’re supported by communities, programs, and everyday acts of care.

Each “pinwheel” represents something powerful:
✨ Access to resources
✨ Supportive relationships
✨ Policies that strengthen families
✨ Moments of connection that help families thrive

When we place families at the center and surround them with support, prevention becomes possible.

🌟 April is Child Abuse Prevention Month 🌟

This year, we’re proud to join Prevent Child Abuse America as the Massachusetts chapter in recognizing “Pinwheels of Possibility” — a reminder that when families are supported, children can thrive.

All month long, we’ll be highlighting the power of prevention:
🧡 Strengthening families
🧡 Building protective factors
🧡 Partnering with communities across Massachusetts

Because prevention is possible — and it starts with all of us. Together, we can create a future where every child grows up safe, supported, and full of possibility.
