Thanks to Ryan Miller, Assistant Library Director/Adult Services Librarian of the North Adams Public Library. Ryan organized a Craft Swap at the library this past Saturday and was quite successful in gathering donations for Louison House. The picture does not show all that was collected. These items will go to residents and guests at our sites. THANKS to EVERYONE who attended the Craft Swap and donated to Louison House!

Thanks Sarah

On Saturday, April 11 from 10AM to 12PM, The North Adams Public Library is hosting our first Craft Swap! This will be free & available to all.

While there is no cost to attend and shop, we encourage folks to bring items which will be donated directly to the Louison House.

Some suggestions are: deodorant (male & female), liquid hand or bath soap (not bar soap), shampoo & conditioner, disposable razors, cleaning supplies, plastic forks & spoons, paper plates, bowls, & napkins, paper towels, bath tissue, bath towels, bed pillows (new), twin fitted sheets (new), & small umbrellas.

Attendees are also asked to shop with a reusable tote and/or bag.

3rd floor community room.

NAPL wishes to extend our gratitude and appreciation to everyone who has donated & shared to make this a success, especially the generous support from our Knot Just Knitters Group!

Paul Gaudreau was a wonderful person who left our world way too soon. He was also very generous and kind. He donated $40,000 to Louison House, which will be used to buy a new van for transporting people to our housing and shelter. He also donated to the North Adams library and to Pop Cares.

Another story of Paul was before the Christmas holiday Paul reached out to me to see if we had a family who could use a gift certificate to make their holidays a little brighter. We had a young family that had just moved into our family supportive housing. The mother was so thankful to recieve a Walmart gift certificate for $200 to help her for the holidays in her new Apartment.
Thank you Paul!!!

Added better picture of Paul!

SHARE the LOVE has been extended. New special prize announcement:
The Love Keeps Flowing!
Share the Love Challenge Extended!

With donations still arriving daily, we want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to contribute to Share the Love. What’s more, we are announcing a new Take a Chance on Love raffle gift: a dinner for two at the Barn, Williams Inn’s classy restaurant.

We will definitively close our campaign with spring’s arrival (March 20), when our thoughts turn to flowers and birdsong. So don’t hesitate. To participate, write a check to FCCNA (“Share” in the memo line) and send to FCCNA–Missions, 134 Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. All donations to Share the Love (matched 50% up to the $10,000 goal) will be split among Berkshire Food Project, the Al Nelson Friendship Center Food Pantry, Louison House, and Greenagers at Many Forks Farm. For each $25 you contribute, you have a chance to collect one of over 30 prizes. Your contribution is a win for Share the Love’s recipient organizations—and it may be a win for you too!

PLEASE HELP
Louison House will open at our shelter locations in Adams and Williamstown even in this bad weather and all program residents will be on site all hours this week. They will only leave if they have to for work or their own or their own appointments.

Please THANK our super site staff !
We have to get out in this weather and cannot just shut down as we have to make sure our people are safe and fed.

We are Housing more people right now than even our winter extra funding covers, but will squeeze in a couple more if anybody finds anybody on the streets without a place to go.

If you can help during these tough days, please contact us. we can use extra hot prepared meals ready to eat or warm up. Everyone loves pizza and such!!

Anyone able to help us shovel out in North Adams at our Flood House building or our Bracewell building or even or Adam’s building let us know!

We have MCLA college students collecting items that we need, but right now if anyone can contribute personal care items, we really need deodorants, hand or body soap(not bar siao as have enough), shamoo, toithpaste and toothbruses And juice and bottles of water are always welcome

Our north Adams admin office will be open limited hours but if you run across anyone without safe warm place. Contact us.

Please call us at 413-663-6323, EXT 3 or 2 if you need immediate help or can assist, but please LEAVE A MESSAGE as we will only have limited staffing to answer phones, but will monitor and get back as as quick as possible.

Or email [email protected] or [email protected]. We will be monitoring voicemail and email even when we cannot be in the office.

Even if not onsite, we will be working!

Geary Builders employees purchased and donated lots of items for families and individuals with Louison House, shortly before Christmas. These items and other donated items enabled us to provide nice gifts for all in our housing and shelter for the holidays.
