We were absolutely thrilled to welcome Akbar Hossain back to his roots as the keynote speaker for our annual fundraiser!
As a Norristown native and proud Norristown Area High School (NAHS) alumnus, Akbar’s journey is a powerful testament to the impact of community support and education. Today, he serves at the highest levels of state government as the Secretary of Policy and Planning for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 🏛️💡
His moving speech reminded us all that when we invest in adult literacy and education, we aren’t just changing individual lives—we are empowering the future leaders of our communities, our state, and beyond.

From mastering English and crushing GED goals to boosting digital literacy, our students and volunteer tutors have spent the last 40 years building a stronger, more connected community.
