It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of former K9 Deputy Artus.

From 2014 to 2019, Artus faithfully served the people of Montgomery County as the K9 partner to Corporal Trevor Keller. Together, they worked side by side in service of public safety, forming a bond that extended far beyond the job.

Following his well-earned retirement in 2019, Artus remained a beloved member of the Keller family, enjoying his years surrounded by those who cared for him most.

The MCSO is grateful for Artus’ years of loyal service. His impact will not be forgotten.

We extend our condolences to Corporal Keller and the Keller family. 🐾

Montgomery County, PA proudly raised the Pride flag over the County Courthouse today. Sheriff Kilkenny joined other elected officials, community leaders, advocates, and residents to celebrate inclusion, visibility, and belonging.

Speakers emphasized the County’s commitment to ensuring every resident feels welcome, valued, and protected from discrimination, while recognizing the contributions and resilience of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Along with the flag that was raised on the county flagpole, a giant flag was unfurled by attendees on the courthouse steps, symbolizing the community's commitment to dignity, equality, and respect for all—during Pride Month and throughout the year. 🏳️‍🌈

Insight, information and inspiration were the prevailing themes of Thursday's online gathering of Pennsylvania Association of Treatment Court Professionals hosted by PA Courts.

The symposium brought together voices from across every facet of the treatment court system—participants, providers, law enforcement, judges, administrators, advocates, and legislators—creating a shared space for meaningful dialogue, new ideas, and renewed commitment to this life-changing work.

The Montgomery County, PA contingent included:

👮‍♀️MCSO Corporal Brandi Shuettler, whose longstanding involvement in treatment courts continues to make a lasting impact.

⚖️ Judge Stephen T. O’Neill, who presides over the Montgomery County Drug Treatment Court which will celebrate its milestone 20th anniversary as a beacon of hope and recovery next month.
&
🏛️ Rep. Tim Briggs who reinforced his commitment to advancing legislation that builds on the proven, evidence-based success of treatment courts and expands access for all Pennsylvanians.

Special thanks to everyone who participated and tuned in to this important, timely, and results-focused collaboration.
