Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, Clerk of Courts Lori Schreiber joined fellow elected officials, community leaders, and residents from across Montgomery County for the rededication of the Montgomery County 9/11 Memorial.

The memorial, designed by sculptor Sassona Norton and incorporating steel recovered from the North Tower of the World Trade Center, now stands at Elmwood Park as a permanent place for our community to remember and reflect.

Today’s ceremony gave our community an opportunity to come together to remember the lives lost, honor the first responders, military members, and countless others who answered the call, and reflect on how September 11 changed our communities and our country. Twenty-five years later, we also recognize the courage, compassion, and sense of community that emerged in the days that followed.

May this memorial help ensure that the stories and lessons of September 11 are carried forward for generations to come.

We will never forget.

Yesterday, Clerk of Courts Lori Schreiber attended Reflections on Recovery: The Power of Connection, presented by Montgomery County, PA in recognition of National Recovery Month.

The conversation highlighted how addiction and recovery affect not only individuals, but their families and support systems as well. Speakers reflected on the losses families may experience during active addiction, the connections that can be rebuilt through recovery, and the importance of remembering that recovery is not always a linear process, but can include starts, stops, ups and downs.

Thank you to Commissioner Jamila Winder, Rep. Madeleine Dean, and the other speakers for sharing your stories and helping to create such an important conversation around recovery and connection.

Could you navigate the first month of reentry?

Join us for an interactive Reentry Simulation that offers a firsthand look at the realities many individuals face when returning to the community after incarceration.

Participants will step into the shoes of a person returning home and work through challenges related to housing, employment, transportation, finances, supervision requirements, and access to essential services. Following the simulation, participants will take part in a facilitated discussion about the barriers they encountered and the role community support plays in successful reentry.

This event is presented through a collaboration between the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the Department of Health and Human Services, and Family Services of Montgomery County.

Recently, our staff had the opportunity to step away from our usual routines for a training focused on Dealing with Change.

Our IT team, Malcolm and Jonathan, explored how technology continues to evolve in the workplace, from cloud storage and security features to AI. They shared resources available to staff and ways to make new technology feel a little less overwhelming and a lot more approachable.

Dr. Jackson then helped us look at change from another perspective: the mental load we carry when we’re juggling worries about work, home, health, finances, education and everything in between. Through engaging visuals and activities, we explored the different lenses through which we may view change, where we carry stress in our bodies, and how we can give ourselves permission to let go of some of that worry and rise to meet what comes next.

It was a great opportunity to learn together and remember that while change is inevitable, we don’t have to navigate it alone.

Tonight was the rain date for Hatboro’s National Night Out, combined with Art in the Park, and what a great night! We had so many visitors stop by our table to grab information and play our matching game, “Can You Find This in the Courthouse?” 🏛️

There was so much happening throughout the park, from art and mini golf to plenty of 🫧 BUBBLES! Such a fun night getting out into the community!

Had a fantastic evening connecting with the community at Abington's Pre-National Night Out! Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts table to learn more about our office, ask questions, and test their knowledge with our "Things You Can Find in the Courthouse" sorting game. We especially enjoyed seeing so many children and families join in the fun!
