A lot of work behind the scenes is making a big difference across Norman Public Schools. 🌎💡

Twenty-five NPS buildings have earned U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ENERGY STAR® Certification this year, up from 14 last year, nearly an 80% increase. Even better, every NPS building submitted for certification earned approval.

ENERGY STAR Certification recognizes buildings that rank among the top 25% nationwide for energy efficiency while meeting standards for indoor air quality and ventilation.

This achievement is the result of years of work by our operations team, campus staff and partners to reduce energy use, improve efficiency and be good stewards of taxpayer dollars.

Most importantly, saving on utility costs means more resources can stay where they belong: in our schools and classrooms supporting students.

We're proud of the work happening across NPS to make our schools more efficient and sustainable. 🌱

Norman FFA had a great showing at the County Livestock Show! 🐄🐑

Our students earned breed championships, overall championships, showmanship honors and top finishes across multiple divisions.

Norman High Cross Country continued its strong tradition at the Greenhill Relays in Dallas, Texas, earlier this month!

The Tigers' varsity boys finished fifth out of 42 teams, while the varsity girls placed 13th out of 36 teams. The girls also improved their relay time by nearly 20 seconds from last year.

The Tigers' JV boys brought home the biggest trophy, winning first place out of 44 teams. The winning relay team featured Harrison Kupec, Asher Navarro, Porter Volentine and Gage Asprey.

Congratulations to all of our Norman High Cross Country athletes and coaches on an outstanding showing!

NPS student Ford Burget has been selected as a youth semi-finalist in the The Sooner Theatre of Norman, Inc.'s 2026 Voice of the Heartland Competition. He’ll take the stage Sept. 14 for a chance to advance to the finals.

A big thank you to our community partner Cavender Subaru of Norman for stopping by Adams Elementary today with another generous donation! 💙

For the past four years,Cavender Subaru of Norman has supported Adams Elementary, and this year’s $12,500 donation is making a big difference in classrooms. 💙

These funds go directly to teachers and students, helping provide hands-on materials, classroom resources and new equipment for the PE program. It gives teachers more opportunities to create engaging, everyday learning experiences and helps students have the tools they need to learn and grow.
