Today will be another hot day. High temperatures today will be 10-15 degrees warmer than average for this time of year.

The forecast for the rest of the week: hot. Temperatures may moderate slightly across northern Oklahoma Wednesday and Thursday, but even that will still be above normal for mid-August.

Next week's outlook says we may be sweating right through 'til September. Not looking good, Oklahoma! Sweat all you want, though...we need the soil moisture. https://ticker.mesonet.org/

Is our heatwave going away soon? Not likely according to the latest CPC outlook through the end of this month as our area is in a bullseye of 70-80% probability likely staying above normal. Our normal high temperatures for the end of August are in the upper 80s to lower 90s

Increased wildfire risk continues across Oklahoma due to dry, warm conditions and gusty wind. A Red Flag Warning will be in effect for NW Oklahoma, but with the high heat and increasing drought, fires are possible anywhere.

Take care to avoid any activities that may cause a spark! If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately.

The State Emergency Operations Center is Activated due to increased fire activity.

🚛 Help keep storm debris pickup moving!

Please avoid parking near debris piles so crews can safely access and remove materials without delays.

When placing debris out for pickup:
🌳 Place storm-generated vegetative/woody debris in the public right-of-way (the area between the street and the sidewalk, ditch, utility pole, or easement—generally about 12 feet in width).
🚫 Do not place debris near water meters, fire hydrants, mailboxes, gas meters, or other above-ground utilities.
⚠️ Keep debris out of intersection sight triangles to help maintain visibility and safety.

Thank you for helping our crews safely and efficiently remove storm debris throughout the community.
