After years of planning, persistence, and collaboration, we are proud to announce that the final funding needed for the new sewer treatment plant has officially been secured. This final portion of funding, combined with previously secured funding from the State Fiscal Recovery Fund and the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority allows us to move forward with replacing the current facility, which has served our community for over 50 years, well beyond its intended lifespan.
This is a major investment in our city’s future, strengthening infrastructure, protecting public health, and supporting continued growth. We extend our sincere gratitude to every partner, agency, and supporter who helped make this long-awaited project a reality.
Twelve Georgia communities were awarded financing totaling $39,328,700 for water, wastewater, sewer, and solid waste projects by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) board of directors.
