Unit 5 Music Parents-U5MP This page is for everyone interested in supporting the Bloomington/Normal Unit 5 music programs.

The purposes of the Unit 5 Music Parents are:

- Cooperating with the McLean Country Unit District #5 band, orchestra, and choir directors and in providing support and encouragement for the students involved in the Music Program of McLean County Unit District #5.

- Furthering the arts in the Unit by encouraging participation in the Music program and development of students’ artistic skills, par

ental involvement, and financial support.

- Raising supplemental funds solely for the benefit of the music students of McLean County Unit District #5.

- Informing all Unit 5 Music Parent Association members and other interested parties of the activities of the Unit 5 Music Program.

🎶 Count down to Music Extravaganza 2024! 🎉

Each day we’ll feature one of our talented music programs, sharing their stories, passions and achievements ✨

🎤 PARKSIDE JUNIOR HIGH CHOIRS 🎤
Director: Melissa Jennings

“PJHS 7th and 8th Grade Choirs have been working hard to prepare for the Extravaganza this year! In 7th grade, we were visited by a teacher who used to teach French to help learn the text of one of our pieces. In 8th grade, we have fallen in love with a jazz piece that will be accompanied with jazz guitar. In 6th grade, we have been learning how to independently read music and sing with beautiful tone. I cannot wait to share what we've been preparing! Students have been stepping up to the plate and have embraced challenges with a positive attitude.

The money raised from the extravaganza will be used to buy exciting pieces, fund trips to perform across town, and provide students with supplies that will help them achieve success in the classroom. If you would like to contribute supplies to the PJHS Choir program, email Ms. Jennings at [email protected] for details.
