Today we honor Juneteenth — Freedom Day — marking the moment on June 19th, 1865, when the last enslaved people in the United States were finally freed, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a day of profound historical significance, joy, and continued commitment to justice.
We celebrate the enduring resilience, power, and strength of our Black neighbors, community members, and organizations who continue to lead the fight against food insecurity — nourishing and uplifting those around them every single day. ❤️
In observance of this important holiday, our foodbank is closed today and will reopen on Monday, June 22nd.
