We had a wonderful time on Sunday celebrating Lee's Friends 47th anniversary and presenting the 9th annual Legacy Award to Sentara Health in recognition of Sentara's enduring partnership with Lee's Friends and commitment to helping people live with cancer.

Rachel Hunley, Community Benefit Project Manager, accepted the award on behalf of Sentara, sharing: "Cancer care is not delivered by one person. It is delivered by a community." We couldn't agree more! Lee's Friends is incredibly grateful to Sentara as we collaborate to help those in our community who are facing the crisis of cancer.

The 2026 Don't Sit on Colon Cancer 5K & 1 Mile Walk is on Saturday March 28, 2026. It includes the following events: 5K Run, 5K Run - Colon Cancer Survivor, 1 Mile Walk, 1 Mile Walk - Colon Cancer Survivor, and Virtual 5K.

We shared some Lee's Friends love yesterday with many of the amazing social workers, nurse navigators, oncology and hospice nurses, and volunteers who support cancer patients along their journey. Our work at Lee's Friends truly would not be possible without you.
