The City of Norcross - Government gathered to celebrate something truly special: the official unveiling of bronze white squirrel sculptures. The ribbon-cutting ceremony at Norcross Gallery & Studios on May 14 marked the completion of the first phase of an ambitious public art project that transforms a beloved local quirk into a community treasure.

The White Squirrels of Norcross project represents far more than just public art installations. It’s a celebration of the city’s unique character, a nod to the rare leucistic Eastern gray squirrels that have called Norcross home for decades, and a creative way to bring neighbors together around something whimsical and wonderful.

Something a little magical has made its way to Norcross, and you just might spot it on your next walk around town. The first five White Squirrel statues have officially arrived, and the Norcross Public Arts Commission, NPAC, could not be more excited to welcome them home! 3 of the squirrels have been named (name announcement coming soon), but the votes were so close at Betty Mauldin Park and Lillian Webb Park that we're having a runoff! Vote in our stories now through Sunday to help make the final choice.
