This week, five members of the Noel Fire Department traveled to Indianapolis, IN to attend the FDIC International Fire Conference—one of the largest fire training events in the country.

Over four days, our firefighters participated in hands-on workshops and classes, bringing back valuable knowledge and skills to better serve our community.

We are especially proud of Cadet Captain Bryer Barrett, who completed the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb—an incredible tribute honoring the bravery and sacrifice of the 343 firefighters who gave their lives on September 11, 2001.

Thank you to our firefighters for your continued commitment to training, service, and excellence. Noel is proud of you! 🇺🇸🚒

This week.is National Telecommunicators Week. This is the week that we honor those heroes that you don't see.

These are heroes that answer your 911 call when you're having you worst day. These are heroes that we hear on the radio, giving us information as we're going to calls. These are the heroes that are sending us help when we're yelling for it. These are the heroes that are the first to know what's going on but, normally never know the outcome.

McDonald County 911 has some of the best dispatchers there is. While this is thier week, they are thought of alot more than they know.

If you know a dispatcher, thank them. Buy them a coffee.

Today, February 24, 2026, is another red flag warning day. High temperatures, low humidity and strong winds is a recipe for a disaster.

Please, do not burn. There is still a burn ban in place. If you burn and it damages other people's property, you could be criminally charged and we do not want that.

Thank you.

COUNTY WIDE BURN BAN
The McDonald County Commission has issued a COUNTY WIDE BURN BAN until further notice!!! NO Outside Burning due to the drought, high winds, and very low humidity.

This has been issued on February 19, 2026.

Today, Thursday February 19, 2026 is a red flag warning day.

With high winds, any where from 30 miles per hour and gusting to 50, a fire will move rapidly. The winds along with warmer temperatures and low humidity is a recipe for disaster.

We ask that you refrain from burning today. If you must, please make sure you have a strong water source close by and, notify our dispatch center at 417-223-4318.

On October 23, 2025, the Kevin Woyjeck Explorers for Life Association announced that the Noel Fire Department Cadet program would be receiving a $10,000.00 dollar grant. This grant was written by Cadet Lt. Bryer Barret and Cadet Ryan Swope.

This grant will be used to purchase essential training gear for the cadets. Were extremely proud of Lt. Barrett and Cadet Swope for working on this grant.

Kevin Woyjeck Explorers for Life Association was established in memory of Kevin Woyjeck, a Los Angeles County Fire Explorer and proud member of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who along with 18 of his brothers lost his life while battling the 2013 Yarnell Hill Fire. They are 100% volunteer organization who is dedicated to supporting programs like ours nationwide.

Congratulations to our cadets on this great achievement.

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, your City of Noel Fire personnel attended a Rescue Task Force training at the high school. They trained with departments from around the county.

This training consisted of removing victims during active shooter scenarios. While we pray that we never have to answer calls like this, we will train to be prepared.

The fire department would like to thank the instructors, the McDonald County School District, along with the departments that attended for this exceptional training chance.

Today, while at school, cadet Lieutenant Bryer Barrett climbed 110 stories. He accomplished this by going up and down the stair well to make the 110 stories.

On September 11, 2001, New York Fire personnel climbed 110 stories in the Worl Trade Centers in an attempt to save people who had been trapped in the attacks.

As you can see in the pictures, Lt. Barrett is exhausted. We have to believe that, in the last picture, he is reflecting on what he just did to honor those 1st responders who did not make it home on that regretful day.

Please say a prayer today as you go about and remember those fallen heroes.

Twenty-four years ago today, the United States was attacked in what was determined to be the worst terrorist attack to ever be completed on American soil.

In total, 413 first responders died on 9/11, including 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, and 14 EMS personnel. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people in total.

As you go about your day today, please take a moment and remember these heroes that gave so selflessly and lost their lives while doing so. Remember their families, their friends, and the legacy they left behind.

John 15:13, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
