Twenty-five years ago today, the United States was attacked in what was determined to be the worst terrorist attack to ever be completed on American soil. Do you remember what you were doing when you first heard the news. A lot of us, we were working, already in public safety. Since that day, there has been numerous changes to how we handle incidents.

In total, 413 first responders died on 9/11, including 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, and 14 EMS personnel. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people in total.

As you go about your day today, please take a moment and remember these heroes that gave so selflessly and lost their lives while doing so. Remember their families, their friends, and the legacy they left behind.

Today, there will be numerous events to honor the lives lost on the unforgettable day. If you can attend one of those events, even for a brief period, please do so. Stop and say a prayer. When you see a police officer, Deputy sheriff, fire fighter, or and EMT/Paramedic, just say, Thank You.

COUNTY WIDE BURN BAN
The McDonald County Commission has put into effect immediately a COUNTY WIDE BURN BAN!! This burn ban will be in effect for 30 days or until rescinded by the Commission. This includes ALL OUTSIDE BURNING.

Please, do not burn until we get significant rain.

The City of Noel Fire Department is currently operating with the Missouri State Highway Patrol- Water Division and the McDonald County Sheriff’s Office at a possible drowning.

At this time, no further information will be released.

Today, your City of Noel Fire Department and cadet explorers traveled to Arma, Kansas to train with the Arma/Crawford County District 2 Fire Department. We were joined by the White Rock and Pineville Fire Protection Districts.

During this training, participants received hands-on instruction in hose advancement techniques, nozzle selection and operation, effective water application, smoke behavior, and live fire suppression operations.

These personnel were able to observe a flashover with a live burn to complete the training.

We would like to that the Arma/ Crawford County District 2 Fire Department and Chief Tim Intessimone for inviting our departments.

We would like to thank our personnel for sacrificing time with their families to further their training and sharpen the skills needed to better protect and serve our communities.

This week, five members of the Noel Fire Department traveled to Indianapolis, IN to attend the FDIC International Fire Conference—one of the largest fire training events in the country.

Over four days, our firefighters participated in hands-on workshops and classes, bringing back valuable knowledge and skills to better serve our community.

We are especially proud of Cadet Captain Bryer Barrett, who completed the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb—an incredible tribute honoring the bravery and sacrifice of the 343 firefighters who gave their lives on September 11, 2001.

This week.is National Telecommunicators Week. This is the week that we honor those heroes that you don't see.

These are heroes that answer your 911 call when you're having you worst day. These are heroes that we hear on the radio, giving us information as we're going to calls. These are the heroes that are sending us help when we're yelling for it. These are the heroes that are the first to know what's going on but, normally never know the outcome.

McDonald County 911 has some of the best dispatchers there is. While this is thier week, they are thought of alot more than they know.

If you know a dispatcher, thank them. Buy them a coffee.
