On June 4, 2026 at approximately 12:03 a.m., Ofc. Decker attempted to stop a vehicle for false and fictitious plates and stopping in the middle of the roadway at a green light near Town Center Blvd and Tegler Dr. The driver failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle pursuit traveled north on I-69 and into the city streets of Anderson. Indiana State Police effectively deployed stop sticks, and the vehicle came to a stop. The driver complied with the high-risk stop.

During the search of the vehicle, approximately 1.5lbs of methamphetamine, $15,865 in cash, and other drugs were located.

The driver, Dayqaun Swain age 32 of Anderson IN, was arrested for:

Resisting Law Enforcement IC 35-44.1-3-1 a level 6 felony
Possession of Methamphetamine IC 35-48-4-6.1 a level 3 felony
Dealing in Methamphetamine IC 35-48-4-1.1 a level 2 felony.

Great work, Ofc. Decker, and all the assisting agencies, for your commitment to keeping our community safe!

As summer gets underway and more people head out to enjoy Noblesville’s incredible trail system, Deputy Chief Jason Thompson wanted to share a few simple reminders that help keep our trails safe, enjoyable, and welcoming for everyone. Whether you're walking, running, biking, riding an e-bike, or enjoying a stroll with your four-legged friend, we all play a role in making the trails a great place to be.

For cyclists and e-bike riders:

Slow down when approaching pedestrians and other trail users.
Give a friendly verbal warning such as "On your left" before passing.
Be mindful of your speed, especially in busy areas, around curves, and near trail crossings.
Remember that not everyone can hear you approaching, so patience goes a long way.

For pet owners:

Keep pets on a leash and under control at all times.
Clean up after your pets (your fellow trail users will thank you).
Be aware that bicycles, runners, and other trail users may appear quickly, so keeping pets close helps prevent surprises for everyone.

For everyone:

Stay aware of your surroundings and avoid blocking the entire trail when traveling in groups.
Be courteous and share the trail with others.
Consider carrying your cellphone with you. Hopefully, you'll never need it, but if an emergency arises, having a phone readily available can make all the difference when contacting help or sharing your location.

One of the best things about our trails is that they bring people together. A little patience, a little courtesy, and maybe even a friendly wave can go a long way toward making everyone's experience a positive one. Enjoy the trails, enjoy the summer, and thank you for doing your part to keep Noblesville's trail system safe and enjoyable for all.

Today, we celebrate Ofc. Joe Keith and congratulate him on an incredible 27 years of service.

Throughout his career, Joe has been the very definition of a steady, dependable officer who has made a positive impact everywhere he has gone. Whether serving the community alongside his K9 partner, Xanto, or supporting his fellow officers or mentoring students, Joe led by example through his integrity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to others.

For nearly three decades, he has been a trusted colleague, a respected officer, and a positive influence on countless lives. His calm presence, strong work ethic, and genuine care for people have left a lasting mark on this department and our community.

While we are excited for Joe as he begins this next chapter, his retirement is certainly bittersweet. He will be deeply missed by his fellow officers, colleagues, and, of course, the many students whose lives he touched throughout his career.

Joe, thank you for 27 years of dedicated service, leadership, and friendship. We wish you and your family nothing but happiness, good health, and many new adventures in the years ahead.
