Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend—it is a time to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and dedication of those who gave their lives in defense of our freedoms. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

From our department to the families of the fallen:

Thank you. We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

This week, we proudly recognize and celebrate National EMS Week and the dedicated paramedics and EMTs who answer the call every day.

Here at WTVFD our EMS team provides lifesaving treatment and unwavering service to our community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether responding to emergencies, offering comfort during difficult moments, or standing ready when seconds matter most, their commitment does not go unnoticed.

As a volunteer department we want to highlight these men and woman who choose to answer the call, at any time of day. Sometimes missing family dinners, bedtime routines, church mornings, holidays, and precious moments. They often times come straight from their own home to the station when the pager goes off, and we are so thankful for our amazing WTVFD family for being dedicated to the service and community.

Thank you to all EMS personnel for your professionalism, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting the health and safety of our community.
Please join us in thanking these everyday heroes during National EMS Week!

Today we recognize International Firefighters’ Day — a time to honor the men and women who answer the call, no matter the hour or the risk.

At Wayne Township VFD, we are proud to serve our community as a 100% volunteer department. Our firefighters give their time, energy, and dedication not for recognition, but because they care deeply about protecting the people around them.

We also want to extend our appreciation to all of our mutual aid partners and departments everywhere. Fire service is built on teamwork, and when the tones drop, it’s never just one department — it’s a network of brothers and sisters working together toward the same mission.

Thank you to every firefighter, near and far, for your commitment, your sacrifice, and your service.
