09-05-2026 Tanker’s 7 and 9-7 were dispatched to assist Nippenose Valley Volunteer Fire Company with a barn fire on Davidson Road, Crawford Township. Chief 1-6 (Stabley) struck a 2nd alarm while responding and, arrived to find a 80x25 well involved. Engine 7 was also dispatched but ultimately failed to respond due to no driver available. Both tankers and fire police worked on the scene for several hours before going available.

09-03-26 Just before 3pm, Tanker’s 7 and 9-7 were dispatched to assist Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Co. with a 2nd Alarm Garage Fire just off of Lycoming Creek Road. Both tankers arrived and supplied the rural hitch. We worked on the scene for about an hour before returning.

Rainfall rates could exceed 3 inches per hour where several storms track east-southeast across the same locations. Early this morning Engine 7 responded with Duboistown Fire & EMS to Sortman Ave. for a partial foundation collapse. Shortly after, Fire Police from the Clark Street Station was requested to assist South Williamsport Fire Department with several flooded roadways. Brush 9-7 remained staff for additional alarms.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM EDT FOR EAST CENTRAL CLINTON AND SOUTHWESTERN LYCOMING COUNTIES...

At 852 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Avis, or near Jersey Shore, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include... Williamsport, Jersey Shore, Avis, Duboistown, McElhattan, Collomsville, Cogan Station, Elimsport, South Williamsport, Garden View, Oval, Salladasburg and Little League World Series Complex.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 180 between mile markers 24 and 29. Interstate 99 between mile markers 136 and 141.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large hail.

Report severe weather to your nearest law enforcement agency or the National Weather Service office in State College PA.
