Saving the best for last, the Ninilchik Community Library thanks Virginia Cuffe for many years of service on the board, at least officially since 2013, though she was an avid volunteer back in the Jackie Bear days. Virginia has been a steadfast fixture of the library board, serving for many years as secretary and vice president, and on the gaming committee, contributing countless hours to managing the production of our calendar and, I am sure, reshelving hundreds, if not thousands, of books. Virginia was always willing to run the circulation desk and share her love of reading. She has an unrivaled understanding of the Dewey Decimal System and proper cataloging, and she also keeps up with the maintenance of withdrawing books per Library of Congress standards, which is quite a task. She has been through many chapters of our story, with its ups and downs, and all arounds ,hopefully a happy ending, as this year is her last. I will miss gathering advice from your experience and your knack for compassionate conflict resolution.

The Ninilchik Community Library thanks Grey Wilson for coming on board in 2025. We are thankful for all his creative, fun ideas for fundraising and programs, plus the multiple charitable donations of his handmade knives he has provided for different events. He always offers a fresh perspective and helps us look at all angles when problem-solving. We appreciate the hands-on time you give, despite running a full-time business of your own, to attend meetings, man tables at events, assist in maintenance projects, and even saved our bacon this winter by pulling shifts at the circulation desk. Grey has taken on the task this year of working with a team on our sponsor and donor wall, being a liaison with local artists and metal fabricators to bring the board's vision to life, so be on the lookout for the unveiling of that project in the next couple of weeks.

The Ninilchik Community Library thanks you, Helena Bock, for stepping—or I should say jumping—up onto our board in 2025, and you have been running at full throttle since. Your energy and get-it-done attitude are so appreciated. You started the yearly Christmas bazaar, which was and continues this year to be a great success. Helena has always been there to fill in at the circulation desk when needed and even move bookshelves; she is dependable in support of community engagement activities, helping host clubs such as ASL, chess, and even stepping in for Lego, as well as developing our learning series that we ran all winter, which brought local talented teachers of many trades together with youth and adults alike to learn new crafts and skills on a weekly schedule. That is a lot of commitment and dependability, not to mention our baskets and front flower bed looked amazing this year from her volunteering her time to w**d, water, and plant them.
