We here at the LNV would like to say we are surprised at many of the things we see and hear, but the more you see the less you are surprised. I mean, it's one thing for a mentally challenged guy like Geo to say he's running for elected office (said he would run for Commish after an historic defeat for Mayor) and then did not. Shocking he did not keep his word.

Word today is that David DeChristofaro (whom we have chronicled in the past) is again running for County Engineer in another spite campaign, and doing so as a Republican. The guy who has been a lifelong Democrat (allegedly), begging the Niles Democrat Club for support time and time again, is now using the red tide to try and get back into office and rolling with a Trump (91 felonies...guess felons support felons) Field Supporter online. Conservative? More like opportunistic.

Remember all those D's he supported here in Niles for the next election (Sollitto, Devorich, Johnstone, etc. etc. etc.). They have to support him, right? Or will they come out and endorse Randy Smith like the good Democrats they claim to be? We cannot wait to see them twist and turn when asked who they will support. They're all feckless and seek to destroy all the gains this town has made over the past eight years.

Tuesday is Election Day. Thankfully. With so little time left to continue exposing those who have no business running this city, it is time to go back to at-large candidate and bloated bully Doug Sollitto. Another round of mailings went out this week (shame on all candidates who do this, honestly). Let's take a look at what Iron Fist Doug says:

"Proven Results". Where? Not one proven result is listed. If you were going to say this, wouldn't you highlight all the amazing work you led to work towards results? The entire mailing would be full of accomplishments, no? Nothing stated. Why? He has none. Zero. All his efforts went towards slowing down progress in Niles. All his efforts go into harassing those who disagree. All his efforts go to trying to make the Mayor look bad. Bike lane? Went against recommendations from our Police Department (and the Transportation Plan HE voted FOR). Traffic light on Robbins? Went against recommendations from our Police Department. City Building (which is open, by the way). Went against safety recommendations from our Police Department. No wonder he works in Corrections and not Law Enforcement. Real man of genius at work here.

"Dispute mediations" and "conflict resolutions." How many conflicts has this bozo has started over the years? How much he has stoked the flames of division? Ask the former Grants Coordinator why he resigned? It sure wasn't because Doug mediated well and represented his constituents well. He bullied him right out of town.

"Experience". Worthless. Means nothing. The Guardians just started two rookie pitchers and they tied team records for strikeouts in their first games. Good is good. Doug is not good.

"Integrity". Lies.

"Solutions". Mayor bad. Me good.

"Results". None listed.

Also, did the Niles City School District give permission for Doug to use their logo? If not, this is a problem for Doug. If so, absolute shame on the District for wading into local politics.

Front page: Says he was the 1st choice of endorsements by the Niles Democrat Club. He packed the room with his stooges. Trust me, this page may or may not have been there. Saw a whole bunch of people that haven't been there before. This is how Dictators stay in power. Same Club also endorsed a MAGA Republican in the 3rd Ward. Well done.

"Accountability". Only if he is finally held accountable for his terrible treatment of others by losing on Tuesday. Otherwise, he is given another free ride to be a jerk to those who dare disagree with him.

"Communication". See previous posts for how he communicates with residents.

You vote your way on Tuesday. Doug is not a good guy. He is pals with the worst of the worst on Niles social media and actively coordinates with them to work against the administration. Smart people know this. That's why he doesn't know we know.

Unlike him, we have proven our case. Be smart. Send this guy out of elected office.

I do hope nobody in the city of Niles believes that last night's "Meet the Candidates" event was anything more than a ploy to bolster the candidacy of unqualified people. Dave DeChristofaro put this on in an effort to help his pal (and the guy he helping to elect), the homophobic bully Doug Sollitto. These types of forums are typically hosted by non-partisan entities to give candidates the chance to speak to voters. This is an annual sham by Dave (who never remember lost his elected position because he did things he shouldn't have done) to make some look bad and others look good. His previous posts tell you all you need to know about how "non-partisan" his intentions are.

Be better than this, Niles.

As long as we are on a roll today, let us look at two candidates clearly helping each other.

Lori Vlosich Hudzik. Here is what WKBN wrote about her when she "voluntarily resigned" her position as Treasurer of our city schools:

"The Niles School Board gave Treasurer Lori Hudzik several chances to keep her job but when it never heard from her, the board was directed to get rid of her. On Monday evening, the board did just that. Members voted unanimously to dismiss Hudzik as treasurer.

“We have sent her four letters,” said Mary Ann McMahon, Niles School Board president. “Each of those letters, we asked her to contact us when she was ready to come back so that we could make whatever arrangements we needed to make so that she could have a smooth transition back to her employment, and I have not heard from her.”

Couldn't reconcile the numbers when the District needed her most. Now she wants to have a say in a budget that is much, much bigger? No thanks. That's not "a better tomorrow".

If you read today's article regarding the 1st Ward election and feel that Judee DeChristefero-March is remotely qualified to be a city leader, you are out of your mind. She shows no understanding of running a municipality. Opening the city building is her top priority? Of all the things to focus on? Her answers prove she has a personal vendetta against the Mayor. She comes off as smug and arrogant.

Todd Weddell clearly has a better grasp on being a leader. Road resurfacing, Police and Fire, collaboration. He would work WITH others, while his opponent would be another Sollitto stooge seeking to hit the Mayor with personal attacks.

Also, I hope the Tribune Chronicle, Warren OH asked Judee how she (allegedly) lost her job at General Motors years ago? I wonder if The Home Depot knows about all the awful things their employee has written about others on her page?

Doug Sollitto. Where to begin? Here is the thing you need to know about most people who work in Corrections. They are taught to treat inmates as Second Class citizens (or worse). Mr. Sollitto does the same outside of those walls. There are too many examples to show of his treatment of residents. We would be here all day. He is wholly and completely unqualified to be an elected official. He is homophobic (based on pics below), so expect him front row at Kid Rock in Youngstown.

He has personal agendas and tries to use his position to settle them. He is consistently against policies that are supported by experts (Police, Fire, Economists) because the Social Media experts tell him otherwise.

And the fact that the 2nd Ward candidate Aaron Johnstone is behind him tells you how those poor bastards in that Ward will be represented on Council. Does him support how Mr. Sollitto conducts himself? Or believe in the same things?

If you have a sign supporting these guys, you are also part of the problem.

Oh, and Doug likes to go to bars with a group behind him and pick fights because his feelings were hurt during a discussion. Must think brains are located in fists.

Congratulations to the great folks at the Niles Democrat Club for endorsing this level of homophobia and hate.
