Niles Fire Department Fire Explorer Post 28 The Explorer Program is for young adults ages 14-21, Male or Female, that are interested in learning Niles Fire Explorer Post #28 was started in May 1999.

This program will give an insight into the firefighting, rescue, and Emergency Medical aspects of the fire service. This will be accomplished by giving young adults training in the following areas:
1.Fire Operations/Suppression
2.Hazardous Materials
3.Emergency Medical Services



Explorer Post - 2
This will help Explorers to make an informed decision as to whether or not this could be a care

er direction they wish to pursue. This is a valuable program for anyone that thinks they may want to become a firefighter/paramedic. In the past we have concentrated on many aspects of firefighting including hose, SCBA, public education, CPR, emergency medical training as well as hands on training. There is a ride-along program available for members who have been on the post for a year.
