🔥 Attorneys announced that Suzanne Swierc, the former director of health promotion and advocacy at Ball State University in Indiana, will receive a $225,000 legal settlement after being unconstitutionally fired for a private Facebook post.

Following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, Swierc posted on her private page: "If you think Charlie Kirk was a wonderful person, we can't be friends... Charlie Kirk's death is a reflection of the violence, fear, and hatred he sowed."

The Fallout: An unknown person took a screenshot of her private post, which went viral and caused a flood of outrage, leading Ball State University to fire her for "campus disruption".

The Lawsuit: The ACLU of Indiana sued the university on her behalf, arguing that public institutions cannot legally retaliate against employees who are speaking as private citizens on matters of public concern.
