Such unity is vital for the mutual protection and advancement of the interests and general welfare of the fire fighters, therefore, we have formed this Local, with the objects duly noted as being:
1. To unite in one organization, regardless of creed, color, gender, or nationality, all fire fighters eligible for membership.
2. To promote the establishment of just and reasonable working conditions

3. To provide representation by the Local before groups or organizations that are responsible for pay, working conditions, welfare, or other matters affecting the members of the Local.
4. To encourage research, education, training, and to make available pertinent information.
5. To improve public relations and to cooperate with other community groups.
6. To improve the leadership and training of the officers and members of this Local.
7. To encourage active membership and affiliations in appropriate labor groups.
8. To participate on committees within the Local or in other groups whose decisions affect the welfare of the organization.
9. To assist and counsel our members in times of distress; and
10. To cultivate friendship and fellowship among its members. Description
The IAFF Local 4289 represents the Firefighters, Lieutenants, Captains and Battalion Chiefs that work 24-hour shifts providing fire suppression, emergency mititgation, general assistance, and public education to the citizens of our great city of Nicholasville, Kentucky. General Information
