Jessamine County has two current cases of measles in children under five (5). Local health department and state health department staff have implemented mitigation measures related to these cases, but the public should be aware of the risk, especially in non-immune children and adults.

People who are not immune and are exposed to measles should quarantine for 21 days after last exposure.

People with symptoms of measles should contact their health care provider before entering a health care facility. Measles is contagious up to four (4) days before the start of rash and four (4) full days after the rash has developed.

Anyone unsure of their vaccination status can visit the Kentucky Department for Public Health’s Kentucky Immunization Registry or contact their health care provider.

The Jessamine County Health Department has MMR vaccines available in clinic for children and adults. Call 859-885-4149 to schedule an appointment.
