Mr. Crawford and his impact on the show choir band students are deeply missed. He loved all things jazz and always wanted to know what charts we were working on. He would on occasion invite students to sit in professional band rehearsals because he had an ear for that skill and talent.
This year, we lost a very crucial and vital part of our program. Larry was the backbone that kept this program together for many, many years. He was more than just an accompanist. He cared for your kids; he listened to your kids - not just singing, but when they needed someone who would just listen. He loved the students, and he loved the music - the accompanied and the a ca****la. He enjoyed figuring out new warm-ups for them to sing. He loved to analyze what they were singing.
Larry was my second set of ears, and a lot of times he caught something before I could. I was very fortunate to have worked beside him, and he was a huge reason why I accepted this position. My weaknesses were his strengths and we worked so well together. This year has been a huge difference than the other 10. He truly carried me through my time here.
I know every student that came through this program would have a story to share, a moment to remember, and a love for this wonderful man.
I truly miss this man. Thank you, Larry. May Light Perpetual shine upon you forever and ever.
