Today at 10 at the Niceville Public Library!

September 15th is National Voter Registration Day. Volunteers from the League of Women Voters of Okaloosa and Walton Counties will be at the library from 10 am - 2 pm to help you get election ready.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, military members, and everyday heroes who answered the call.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the families who lost loved ones and the strength of the communities that came together in the days that followed.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

All City of Niceville offices and facilities will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. for a city-wide staff meeting.

Saturday, September 12, 2026 is National Battery Takeback Day, and WM will be hosting a battery takeback event at the FWB Recycling Facility located at 109 Ready Avenue NW from 9AM to 1PM.

Woodsy’s birthday is coming up, and WM is celebrating by hosting take-back events nationwide on September 12th! 🎉🔋🦉

Find an event near you to safely turn in your old batteries, get tips on safe and proper disposal, and celebrate the occasion while helping keep your community safe from battery fires!

We’ll be collecting most household batteries, including button cell, AAAA to D, and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries from electronics and power tools.
