Mr. Zafuto our school counselor makes the best pancakes! He treated Mrs. Dionne’s class to them today! We interviewed him last week! Did you know, Mr. Zafuto likes the color yellow and likes to eat chicken cutlets! He has 2 dogs and when he has extra time he enjoys going fishing! Thank you for the yummy treat!

🇺🇸 Today, We Remember. 🇺🇸

We are sharing this meaningful post from our friends at NFHS as we take time today to remember September 11, 2001.

Our GJ Mann Owls were not yet born when the events of 9/11 took place, but that makes teaching them about this day even more important. ❤️🤍💙

Today, we’re also sharing a picture of the sky over Geraldine J Mann Elementary School as a simple reminder to help a new generation of Americans understand, remember, and honor a day they only know through the stories and lessons we share with them. 🇺🇸

We remember the lives that were lost, the heroes who ran toward danger to help others, the families forever changed, and the incredible courage, kindness, and unity shown in the days that followed.

As educators, we have the responsibility to help the next generation understand our history and why we continue to pause, reflect, and remember each September 11th.

May we continue to teach our students to honor the past by choosing kindness, compassion, courage, and unity in the present.
