May 19, 2026 | Our Department would like to congratulate Officer Alcime on winning the National Golden Glove Tournament that took place on May 16, 2026.
One year ago, Niagara Falls Police Officer Adonis Alcime fell just short of a National Golden Gloves title, suffering a heartbreaking split decision loss in the tournament finals. When he returned home from Tulsa, Oklahoma, he made a promise that he would return and bring the championship belt back to Niagara Falls.
Saturday night, he fulfilled that promise. Adonis Alcime captured the 2026 National Golden Gloves Championship this past weekend with a unanimous decision victory over highly touted amateur Maksym Kots. The win capped off an incredible run for Alcime, who fought four times in five days against some of the top amateur fighters in the United States. The Golden Glove Tournament Belt was handed over to him by former world champion Teofimo Lopez, who was in attendance.
The championship marks Alcime’s second major national accomplishment, after previously winning the Eastern Qualifiers in 2022. Following a brief break from the sport, Alcime returned to boxing in 2025 with renewed focus and determination.
Alcime trains out of FightNight Boxing Club in Niagara Falls, where he also helps mentor the next generation through the Niagara Falls High School After School Boxing Program. Whether inside the ring or coaching young athletes in the community, Alcime’s commitment to boxing in Niagara Falls continues to make an impact.
Congratulations Officer Alcime!
