🎒💙 Giving Back to Our Community 💙🎒

A heartfelt thank you to all of our SPS families who contributed to our Backpack Project through the SPS Community Services Group!

Because of your generosity, pencils, folders, glue sticks, notebooks, and many other school supplies were collected and used to fill 24 backpacks for children who visit Heart, Love and Soul each day. 📚✏️🎒

All 18 of our Community Service students had the opportunity to travel with Mrs. Joan O'Laughlin, a dedicated volunteer with our group, to personally deliver the backpacks and tour the facility. It was a meaningful experience for our students to see firsthand how their efforts can make a difference in the lives of others.

We are so proud of our students for living out our faith through service and giving back to those in need—just as the Lord calls us to do. 🙏❤️

Today we held our Annual Grassroots Garden Planting Day!

Nina from Grassroots Gardens joined us in the Peace Garden, working alongside our staff, volunteers, and guests to plant a variety of fruits, vegetables, and flowers — including tomatoes, green peppers, and marigolds. This community effort is beloved by our guests and neighbors, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make today special!

Now we want to hear from YOU, Niagara Falls.

HLS is teaming up with to reimagine 0.4 acres on Ontario Avenue into a space for fresh food, green space, learning opportunities, and more in our neighborhood.

Before anything goes in the ground, we need community input to help shape what gets built.

Another great week in our dining room at Heart, Love & Soul!

Kris and the team were at it again, providing crafts for our guests to participate in — and just look at all the beautiful artwork everyone painted! Creativity, community, and connection were on full display this week.

Last weekend, Heart, Love & Soul was abuzz with creativity during our Urban Farming Design Workshop.

Community members, designers, growers, and innovators worked in teams to brainstorm ideas for a potential urban farming space across the street from our campus. Together, participants shared how they envision this garden space and the many ways it could strengthen our community—from increasing food access and sustainability to creating opportunities for education, wellness, and more.

Stamp Out Hunger, a nationwide effort to fight food insecurity, is THIS Saturday, May 9! Simply leave a bag of non-perishable food by your mailbox, and your mail carrier will pick it up and help deliver it to local food pantries like Heart, Love & Soul right here in Niagara Falls.

Every can, box, and bag makes a difference for families and individuals facing hunger in our community. Together, we can help ensure our neighbors have access to the food and support they need.

A special shout out to Marteea, Marc, and Jake—three awesome postal carriers from Niagara Falls who will be collecting non-perishable food donations along their routes!

Thank you to our amazing postal workers, volunteers, and community members for making this event possible year after year!
