The Friendship Hose Company No. 1, Inc. is the Fire and EMS Department that serves the Borough of Newville, and portions of West Pennsboro, North Newton, Upper Mifflin, and Lower Mifflin Townships in Cumberland County, PA. Our area that we cover is very diverse from highly residential areas, to rural areas along the N
orth Mountain. We provide mutual aid to all of our surrounding fire departments as well in most of their box areas on initial dispatch. We also provide Emergency Medical Services in a large area between Carlisle and Shippensburg; the same area as our fire/rescue first-due areas with the addition of Upper Frankford, Penn, and portions of Lower Frankford, South Newton, and Cooke Townships. engine-tanker, a 1,000-gal. engine-rescue, a moderate-sized rescue vehicle, a 300-gal. mini pumper, a 150-gal brush truck, three ambulances, and a utility pick-up truck used for miscellaneous emergency calls and also for assisting with fundraiser functions.
