🎆 The countdown is ON, Newton! 🎆

Rockets & Rails is just a little over one week away, and we can't wait to celebrate with you on July 3 at Athletic Park!

From delicious food vendors and family activities to live music, contests, and a spectacular fireworks show at dusk, there will be something happening all evening long. Be sure to check out the attached event map and schedule so you can plan your perfect night.

⚾ While you're there, don't miss the Newton Mexican American Athletic Club (N.M.A.A.C.) Fast Pitch Tournament, taking place throughout the weekend at the south end of Athletic Park. Opening ceremonies begin around 5 p.m., followed by the Old Timers Game and tournament action featuring teams from across the region. Be sure to stop by, cheer on the players, and experience one of Newton's long-standing holiday traditions!

Grab your lawn chairs, gather your family and friends, and get ready for an unforgettable Independence Day celebration.

No matter if you have tickets or not for the Wine Walk you won’t want to miss all of the Third Thursday fun tonight!! Karaoke, Footloose snippets, Makers Market, and the perfect opportunity to get a last minute Father’s Day gift for dad.

Gayle was getting all ready for the Wine Walk this week at Living Rooms by Gayle! She can vouch that Grace Hill Winery has some delicious wines. We can't wait to see you this evening.

Whether you have tickets or not it's still going to be a great evening! Stores are open late to explore, local makers will be set up on East 6th Street, live music and artists will be at various locations downtown, and the Newton Community Theatre, Kansas will be giving some previews of their upcoming performance of Footloose at Krehbiel Park. It's a great evening to come to Downtown Newton!

We can't wait to see you tomorrow for Third Thursday! Downtown will be hopping with lots of activities. There will be the Wine Walk & Savory Stroll, businesses open late to shop and explore, places to grab dinner, and the 2nd Makers Market on E 6th Street. Whether you have tickets or not it is sure to be a great evening Downtown! The weather is even supposed to cool off.

Step back a couple of decades, close your eyes, and imagine what this could be...

The opening chords of a live concert echoing across the park.
The laughter and pure joy from the Kids Zone.
The cheers from the hot dog and ice cream eating competitions.
The smell of funnel cakes, tacos, barbecue, and summer favorites drifting through the crowd.
Neighbors catching up after months of not seeing one another. Friends running into friends. Families spreading out blankets and lawn chairs for a summer night together.
As the evening rolls on, the crowd grows. The music gets louder. The energy builds.
Then, as darkness settles in, thousands of eyes turn skyward as fireworks light up the Kansas night.

All around Athletic Park, memories are being made, whether you're enjoying Rockets & Rails, attending the Newton Mexican American Athletic Club (N.M.A.A.C.) Opening Ceremonies and games, or simply soaking in one of the biggest community nights of the summer.

This reel shows what could be possible: the lawns filled, the stands packed, the football and softball fields covered with people, and Athletic Park buzzing with community!
