Hello everyone. I wanted to give a little update on things at Leah’s house. We are getting very close to opening. I stopped giving dates because we have had so many delays. We still have some paperwork we are waiting to go through the state as well. I am very hopeful by the first of the year we will be able to get the doors open.

We will be putting in some new flooring soon and a new furnace. We have the money to purchase one thanks to cork and pork. We are so thankful for that. We are looking for the best one at the best price. The building has 4 furnaces and none of them worked when we purchased the building last year. Thank you so much to Tom Matson and Jim Hankins for working very hard and fixing 3 of the 4. One furnace was very old and unable to be fixed.

I am excited to announce that Celebrate recovery is now being held at Leah’s house on Tuesday nights at 6:30. This is open to the public and everyone is welcome to Celebrate recovery is a Christ centered 12 step program for anyone who has ever experienced a hurt, habit or hang up. That is everyone we have all experienced hurt. Celebrate recovery is a forever family!! We encourage and uplift each other. Celebrate recovery is not just for addicts. Everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there come and check it out.

We are still in need of 2 gas stoves or one large one a refrigerator (we have one refrigerator thanks to Keisha but we would like a cooler refrigerator as well).

We are so thankful to Jasper county community for all the donations and support. Every week I get a call about a woman needing a place to stay.

We are very excited to see what God is going to do at Leah’s house. We are very thankful to are community for all your support. God bless you all !!!

I will be cleaning at Leah's House today if anyone is available to help. 10a.m to 4p.m.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you Jasper County for coming out and supporting the fundraiser for Leah’s house on Saturday.
All I can say is wow!!! What an amazing community we live in. I am overwhelmed by the amazing support we received.
There were so many people who donated their time, energy and supplies. They worked for hours out in the sweltering heat to see this happen and they made it happen in a big way.
Mike and I want to thank everyone who came and donated money for porkburgers and baked goods, and got their car washed.
Many local businesses showed their support as well, including Joes Italian Foods & Pizza, Newton American Legion Post 20, and Anderson & Sons.
A huge thank you to Brett Tarr from Squeaky Clean Car Wash for donating the use of the car wash bay and all the supplies, as well as allowing us to have the porkburger and bake sale on the property.
Thank you to Isaiah and Michelle Newkirk and Rozlyn for being led by God and organizing this fundraiser.
A special thank you to New Beginnings Church and all the members who have supported this vision from the beginning. Thank you to Pastor Tom and Julie Matson.
To all the area churches and Pastors that came out and supported this, I thank you because it will take the whole body of Christ to see this vision come to pass.
To Newton Celebrate Recovery, my forever family who have worked so hard to see this come to pass, I love you all. Thank you.

I want to thank my amazing husband Michael Cook who has believed in me and supported me in every way. I would not be here without him.
I pray I did not forget anyone because I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped me from the beginning that has donated monetarily and donated their time to get furnaces running and water pipes fixed. God knows what you have all done and I pray he blesses you all in amazing ways for bringing this vision to pass. I truly believe what you make happen for others God will make happen for you.
Some things we will be working on now are flooring and painting, as well as buying an industrial stove, refrigerator, deep freezer, and more beds. We have purchased a van for Leah’s House that needs some work, and we will be working on that as well.
