The 500–700 block of S. 4th Ave. E. will close to through traffic for paving work as part of the 2026 City-Wide HMA Project. Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained whenever possible during construction.

After asphalt is placed on Friday, vehicles will not be permitted on the new pavement for a short period while it cools and reaches the recommended temperature for traffic. Crews will reopen the road once the pavement is ready.

Residents and motorists should plan for alternate routes and allow extra travel time. Please use caution near the work zone. Questions can be directed to the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department.
