- For the most accurate times, check the GoOutdoorsIowa app on your mobile device.
And a few reminders for our Adult Mentors:
- If the Youth turned 16 before the season, they will need to have a Hunting License and Habitat Fee.
- The Youth license is for combination Gun/Bow and is valid statewide.
- Youth Season License is valid for the Youth Season or if unfilled may be used in any other spring season.
- Youth hunters must be under the direct supervision of an adult mentor while hunting during the Youth Season.
- Adult mentors supervising youth hunters hunting during youth season must have a valid License for one of the spring turkey seasons, a valid Hunting License, and have paid the Habitat Fee.
- Adult mentors must not carry a long gun, bow or crossbow, and must be in the direct company of the youth at all times.
- There may be no more than one youth with each properly licensed adult mentor.
And a few reminders for landowners and tenants:
- A youth who resides with and is a member of a family of a landowner or tenant who is eligible for a Landowner-Tenant Wild Turkey Hunting License may obtain a Landowner-Tenant License for Youth Season.
- The Landowner-Tenant Youth License will count as the one Landowner-Tenant Wild Turkey Hunting License the landowner or tenant family is entitled to for the spring turkey seasons.
Good luck. Be safe.
