In the spirit of celebrating our country’s 250th anniversary, we will proudly fly the American flags throughout the City of Newton in honor of Memorial Day, D-Day on June 6th, National Flag Day on June 14th, and U.S. Independence Day on July 4th. As we celebrate these historic occasions, we remember the sacrifices made by those who served our nation and honor the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. May our flags serve as a symbol of patriotism, unity, and gratitude for the brave men and women who helped shape and defend the United States of America.

We would like to thank The American Legion Post 335 Sylvester, Georgia and The Baker County Flag Committee.

Patriotism is strong in Newton, Georgia, as we honor and remember all our fallen military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, dedication, and selfless service will never be forgotten. On this Memorial Day 2026, we proudly stand together as a community to pay tribute to the heroes who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we cherish every day. May we always remember their sacrifice and keep their legacy alive in our hearts.

We would like to thank Ray Jennings and Jim King for their dedication and for being the backbone of our flag program. We would also like to thank the American Legion Post 335 from Sylvester, Georgia, for always ensuring we have the flags we need to show our patriotism.
