🚨 IMMIGRANT PANTRY EMERGENCY FUNDING UPDATE 🚨
We are stretched to the snapping point.
After last week’s storms left more than 100,000 people across the Memphis area without power, we went into crisis mode. Our own requests for food assistance increased, while we also began stepping in at community food distributions across the city when they ran out—doing everything we could to make sure families didn’t leave empty-handed.
And then came last night.
More than 100 of our immigrant neighbors were reportedly detained in the raid at El Corralón. Families woke up today missing loved ones, facing fear, uncertainty and, for many, the sudden loss of someone who helped put food on the table.
We already know what comes next for us: more families needing their neighbors to stand with them.
And right now, our pantry has almost nothing left financially.

Tomorrow alone, we have 12 deliveries scheduled. We provide each family with pantry staples plus $50 in fresh meat, milk and produce. That means we need $600 tomorrow just for fresh food—before we buy a single canned good, bag of rice, box of cereal, hygiene item, diaper or anything else.
We don’t know exactly what this week is going to bring. After everything Memphis has experienced over the past several days, we know it won’t be easy.
But we’ll do what we’ve done every time the need has grown.
We’ll wake up tomorrow and take on the next challenge.
We’ll pack the boxes. We’ll shop for the groceries. We’ll answer the messages. We’ll make the deliveries. We’ll step in when someone else runs out. And we’ll make sure families facing some of the scariest moments of their lives know that their community has not abandoned them.
