📣 Exciting Opportunity for Vermillion County Residents

The Vermillion County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce a Quarter Beef Raffle exclusively for Vermillion County residents, made possible through our partnership with Ellis Beef Genetics.

This raffle offers a unique opportunity to enjoy premium, locally raised beef sourced from cattle raised on county-owned pasture. The Quarter Beef Raffle will be held annually for the next 30 years, so if you are not selected this year, you will have many more opportunities to participate.

💥 Raffle Details:
• $20 non-refundable application fee (payable at the Auditor’s Office)
• Winner will be drawn live at the next Commissioners Meeting
• Application deadline: April 3rd
• All proceeds will be donated to a local nonprofit organization at year-end through a Commissioners Grant

The Board of Commissioners are thrilled to announce a Turkey and Deer Hunting Raffle & Lease on the County Farm property (67 acres)! 🦌🦃

This is a unique chance to enjoy prime local hunting land through a limited hunting lease—right next to Trailhead Park.

🎯 Hunting Seasons:
* Turkey: April 22– May 10
* Deer: November 1 – January 3rd

🚧 Trail Access Note: For public safety, the trail adjacent to the County Farm will be closed during these hunting seasons.

💥 Raffle Details:
* $20 non-refundable application fee - see link below
* $1,000 lease fee for the raffle winner
* All proceeds will be donated to a local non-profit
* We are currently working on the process to select the local non-profit recipient, which will be announced at a later date.

Vermillion County, IN — Due to inclement weather conditions, the Vermillion County Courthouse and all satellite offices will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 26, 2026.

The closure is being implemented to ensure the safety of county employees and the public. Essential services will resume when offices reopen during normal business hours.

Residents are encouraged to monitor official Vermillion County communication channels for updates regarding reopening or additional weather-related announcements.

We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation as we prioritize safety during severe weather conditions. Stay Warm and Safe.

The Vermillion County Commissioners are proud to announce the completion of paving on County Road 275 East. This project was made possible through the collaboration and support of INDOT’s Community Crossings Matching Grant Program, the Vermillion County Highway Department, and the Vermillion County Council. In 2025, Vermillion County received $1.5 million through the Community Crossings program.

These funds allowed for road improvements throughout the county, and County Road 275 East is one of many projects completed. We appreciate the teamwork and dedication that made these improvements possible.

We’re excited to share this article from the National Association of Counties highlighting a unique Vermillion County project, transforming one of our graffitied tunnels into a meaningful work of art and tradition for future North Vermillion graduates.

This project was made possible by the bold vision and leadership of Commissioner President RJ Dunavan.

Vermillion County, Ind. turned visiting a forgettable magnet for graffiti into a budding tradition for its high school graduates.

Yesterday we officially cut the ribbon on the new Osanamon Public Access Site! Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this exciting addition to our community.

What started as an idea has become a reality through incredible collaboration and leadership. This site is designed for the whole family to enjoy—whether you’re kayaking, canoeing, or simply taking in the beauty of the Big Vermilion River. 🚣‍♀️🌳

We are grateful to our partners: Indiana DNR, Vermillion County Community Foundation, Vermillion County Highway Department, and E.S. Smith & Sons Excavating.

This project was made possible through the innovative Wabash River BlueWay Initiative, powered by Lilly Endowment, Inc., creating more accessible and sustainable waterways for our community.
