Start of School Assistance (SOSA) is an EducateNKY volunteer initiative that helps students in Covington and Newport start the school year feeling welcomed, supported, and ready to learn. Volunteers will serve during the first three days of school, supporting arrival, classrooms, lunch, recess, or departure based on each school’s needs.

What a wonderful way to wrap up the school year at Newport Intermediate School! 🎉

Our students and staff worked so hard through testing season, and we are incredibly proud of the effort, focus, and perseverance they showed. Over the last days of school, we had the chance to celebrate all of that hard work with fun projects, activities, STLP state competition, field day, 6th grade band concert, iReady Bracket Challenge events, awards day, graduation, and time spent simply enjoying each other’s company.

It has been a joy to watch our students learn, grow, celebrate, and make memories together. We are so proud of everything they have accomplished this year, and we are excited to send them off into summer break with full hearts and big smiles.

Thank you to our students, families, and staff for making this year so special. Have a safe, fun, and restful summer! ☀️

🎓 6th Grade Graduation Celebration 🎓

Please join us as we celebrate our 6th graders and their academic success!

Graduation will be held on WEDNESDAY, May 20th, in the Newport Intermediate School gym.

6th grade students need to arrive at 4:30 p.m. so they can get placed, dressed in their gowns, and ready for the ceremony.

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. Doors will close and be locked at that time, so please plan to arrive early.

There is no limit to the number of guests each student may bring.

We are excited to celebrate this special moment with our students, families, and community!

Newport Intermediate Families,

We are sorry to announce that our last Muffins in the Morning scheduled for Friday, May 8th will be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

We apologize for the inconvenience but look forward to bringing this event back in the fall when we start the 2026-27 school year. Thank you for your support and attendance this spring and we hope to see you at our next event!

🌺🏄‍♀️ Surfing Into Success! 🏄‍♂️🌺

KSA testing begins next week, and we are getting ready to cheer on our students as they show everything they’ve learned this year!

Tomorrow, Friday, May 1st, we will be having a luau-themed assembly to get everyone excited and motivated for testing. Students are encouraged to wear their best school-appropriate luau clothing and items as we celebrate “Surfing Into Success” on KSA!

Let’s make it a fun day and help our students feel confident, prepared, and ready to do their best! 🌊☀️

Hello Newport families! Just a reminder that our Scholastic book fair started yesterday and will continue through Friday the 17th during school hours. On April 16th, we will have our Spring Family Night 5:30-7:00. This gives families the opportunity to shop with their student at the book fair!
