Troopers of Kiowa Troop. I wanted to extend a heartfelt "Thank you" for all of your hard work and exceptional attitudes. It's been my pleasure to be your commander these past 4.5 years, and I am very proud to have my name associated with yours and the lineage of the Troop. Please remember my door is always open to you. Continue your work with building your team, and moving forward as the best Cavalry Troop in the 278th ACR. Kiowa, from now on if you are promoted, you will not actually pin the rank on and receive the pay until you complete the appropriate NCOES. So specialists eligible for promotion will be placed in a sergeant slot and not be promoted until they complete WLC (soon to be BLC). Soldiers will have 24 months to complete the appropriate NCOES.

We are not sure yet but I foresee this 24 month requirement extending to all NCO's that have not completed the NCOES commensurate with their grade.

The moral of the story:

1. Sergeants you NEED to complete WLC ASAP.

2. SSG's you need to complete ALC

3. SFC's you need to complete SLC

4. All Soldiers need to be ready to attend NCOES. Physically and mentally prepare yourselves to do so.

5. Contact us at the unit to schedule you for NCOES!

SCOUTS OUT!

Soldiers will no longer be promoted without first having successfully completed related professional military education courses, according to recently-signed Army Directive. Soldiers will need to complete their schooling before they are allowed their new stripes.

Sergeant Branch and his wife are at the hospital welcoming a child to this world.
