Batten down the hatches, a storm's coming!

For mariners, expect a 20-40% chances of isolated storm-force wind gusts within 20 nautical miles of the coast on Wednesday. Winds will be out of the south to southwest.

For us land-dwellers, there is a 20-40% chances for peak wind gusts of 50 mph or greater for beaches and headlands. Peak gusts out
of the south are most likely to occur in the early to mid-afternoon.

Gusts may move loose objects or damage weak tree branches, while more significant impacts (e.g., downed trees, power lines) are not anticipated.

Widespread steady rain is expected across the region on Wednesday through Thursday morning. Rainfall totals of 1.00-2.50 inches in coastal areas and the Coast Range.

Rain showers will continue into Thursday, when there is a 15-30% chance of thunderstorms across the region. Storms are not anticipated to be severe.
