ppliances. Nationwide there are over twelve Waterway Co-Ops, each servicing local fire departments. Hose testing can be a huge burden on departments especially volunteer departments. Waterway can come in and test the average department in generally one day, including the ground ladders, suction hose and pumps at the same time. An added benefit of scheduling the multiple testing services on the same day is that you do not incur any additional out of service time. At the end of the day, your engine is returned to you packed in the Waterway signature “Parade Style.” This frees up your departments man power and training time to do all the other necessary training. NFPA is constantly changing its requirements and at Waterway we strive to stay abreast of all the changes. To meet those needs, we have added testing for nozzles, appliances, and systems. These testing requirements are new in the NFPA 1962 -2013 standard. After much research and development, Waterway has developed a safe testing method to meet those new standards and we are now able to offer these testing services to all our customers. Just to clarify, NFPA 1962 regulations now state that not only do you have to test the hose but you must hydro test both the appliances and nozzles, as well as, put the pre-connect all together and test the entire system.
