Hurricane Florence made landfall just to our south eight years ago today. As we look back on how Florence impacted our area, we are reminded of one of the seven cooperative principles - “Cooperation Among Cooperatives.” CCEC had assistance from more than 500 linemen, contractors, and tree crews. It was because of their assistance that we were able to bring our system back from total blackness to power to every member within twelve days. Mutual aid is a vital part of how we operate and serve members of our local communities.
