It's Forever Family time!

Forever Family Fursday is all about celebrating the joy, resilience, and pure heart that shelter pets bring into our lives — and this week’s star is Charlie, formerly known at the shelter as Mr. Wiggles McGoo-Goo Pants 🐾💛.

Charlie’s new family shared an update that melted every one of our hearts. He’s settling in beautifully, and the bromance between Charlie and Cooper, the family’s Australian Shepherd, is already in full swing 🐶❤️🐶. Whether they’re playing, exploring, or simply enjoying each other’s company, these two have quickly become inseparable.

His adopters say Charlie has excellent house manners and has been unbelievably gentle and sweet 🥹✨. In their words: “We are so lucky that we get to be the people he spends his life with.”

This is why adoption matters. When you welcome a shelter pet into your home, you’re not just giving them a second chance — you’re gaining a forever friend, a companion who fills your days with love, laughter, and gratitude 🌈🏡. Thanks to Bissell’s generous sponsorship, all dogs and cats will have reduced adoption fees:

• Bissell sponsors $10 off each cat adoption
• Bissell sponsors $20 off each dog adoption

Adoption Fees During the Event:

• Adult Large Breed Dogs (over 31 lbs and/or 1+ years old): $30
• Small Dogs & Puppies (30 lbs or under and/or under 1 year): $70
• Adult Cats (1+ years old): $40
• Kittens (under 1 year): $50
• Seniors: No adoption fee!

Huge shout‑out to **the team behind our team**! 🐾💙

A few weeks ago, our autoclave decided it needed a little “vacation,” which could’ve put a serious pause on our surgery prep. But thanks to two amazing veterinary clinics— Paws Veterinary Hospital* and Animal Medical Care Center—we kept right on going! They jumped in without hesitation and helped us sterilize our surgical packs so our work never missed a beat.

And an extra round of applause for our awesome volunteer Sharon B. who shuttled packs back and forth like a champ. 🚗✨

It’s partners like you who help keep our animals safe and our services running. We’re grateful for every single one of you. Thank you for being the team behind our team! 💛🐶🐱

📣We are overflowing with felines looking for their furever homes 🐈 🏡 ! If you have been thinking of adding a furry and purry companion to your home we might just have the perfect match for you ! 😉

It is amazing that we have so many wonderful pets 🥹 available for adoption for families visiting us …but the down side is it means we are at capacity in our facility which presents challenges for pets needing to come into our care 😔.

Adoption isn’t the only way to get involved and positively impact our pet we have volunteer and foster opportunities as well. ( [email protected] and [email protected])💜

🐾 Foster Feature Friday: Chupie! 🐾

Also known as Chupacabra… but don’t let the name fool you. This girl is anything but scary! ❤️

Chupie came to us as a very uncomfortable stray pup. Her skin was in pretty rough shape when she arrived, so we got to work treating her for allergies and demodex and helping her feel like herself again. She's still undergoing treatment, but she is doing SO much better!

Once her stray hold was up, Chupie hit the foster jackpot! She landed in a fantastic foster home with a few other PRAS pups—and we’re pretty sure her foster mom is basically Super Woman for shelter dogs. 🦸‍♀️🐶

Chupie is doing wonderfully with her resident female APBT and her two male PRAS foster brothers (Circus Peanut and Zeus). She loves to play, and having canine companions around has been a great fit for this energetic girl!

The skies are blue, just as they were 25 years ago.

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families who continue to carry that loss. We also remember the countless first responders, service members, volunteers, and loyal companion animals who were part of the response and recovery.

For many, pets are family — offering comfort, companionship, and a little bit of hope when life feels heavy. Today, we’re thinking of all those who lost loved ones, both two-legged and four-legged, and honoring the bonds that help us through even the hardest days.

Never forgotten. 🇺🇸

🐾💚 : Tina! 💚🐾

Tina has officially settled into her forever home, and it sounds like she’s decided she’s exactly where she belongs! 🥰

Her family says she’s adjusted beautifully and has become a lovely addition to the crew. She’s especially fond of 🚗 car rides, 🥤 pup cups, squeaky toys, and—most importantly—taking up ALL the space in the human bed. 😂

She also takes her job as Backyard Security very seriously. If a squirrel dares enter her yard, Tina will stand guard until that trespasser has officially vacated the premises. 🐿️🚨

We absolutely love hearing updates like this and knowing that Tina is happy, loved, and living her very best life.

Thank you to Tina’s family for opening your home and your hearts to her—and for giving us the joy of watching another PRAS pup find her forever family. 🏡❤️
