A key verse to remember:

“In every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” - Philippians 4:6.

Intercession = standing before God for others;
Petition = coming before God with your own requests.

Both matter. You are not less mature because you pray for yourself. Pray for others… sure, yes please do. But also PRAY FOR YOURSELF.

In fact… pray now. Go ahead.. thank the Lord for your life. Tell Him you love Him, adore Him aka worship Him. Commit your day into His hands, ask Him to direct your path, your emotions, your words. Ask Him to help you do His will in every situation. Talk to Him about what hurts, what concerns you and ask for divine intervention and wisdom.

Everything isn’t perfect.. who said it would be?

Manure is animal dung used for fertilising land so plants can grow. It doesn’t look nice or smell nice, it’s literally 💩 but it’s needed to aid growth.

What you’re going through may not look like where you’re going to but trust God, who will not put more on you than you can bear.

Choose to grow through everything you go through so at the end of the day, your pain would not be in vain, but would have aided your growth.

I’m not trying to tell you everything happens for a reason, I’m trying to remind you.. God said “it will work out for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”

When it doesn’t make sense, when you can’t see the point of the pain, I pray like Jude exhorts “you keep yourself in the love of God.” And like in Mathew 6- you seek God’s kingdom first.

Love God, stay in His purpose and I promise the tide will turn and God will cause it to work in your favour.

Read the story of Joseph from Genesis 37-47.

Song- Because He lives I can face tomorrow.

The journey never looks like the destination but if you’re following the leading of the Lord, be sure you’ll get to the expected end.

That’s what I was tempted to do during testimony time contend 2026. The testimonies were amazing but time was going oh! And of course some people took time to warm up before putting their hands to testify. I could tag them but I’ll be merciful. lol.

So I get it! Fitting testimonies into a service is project management when everyone wants to give you the back story and are great story tellers. To be fair, you may not get the gravity of their thanksgiving if they don’t tell you the full story or if they put it in writing and someone else reads it out for them. It’s not the same as the person who lived through it testifying.

But brothers and sisters… consider the rest of the people that may be slow at putting their hands up but will still want to testify lol.

Oh and you are people that are shy and wait to the last minute of the time allocated to testimony to start putting your hand up.. Biko, Jor aka Please.

I love testimonies! They can so so encouraging and faith stirring. Don’t wait until a church service to give your testimony of what the Lord has done for you. Share it whenever and wherever you can. The Lord is glorified when you testify and people are edified.

“Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.”

Not just words?

Paul wrote “whatever you have learned or received or heard from me or seen in me- put into practice and the God of peace will be with you.”- Philippians 4:9.

Hi there… ministers, mentors, leaders etc can you confidently say or write this to those that you are leading.. knowing that if they did they would still be in right standing with the Lord?

Or can they only follow what they learn from you verbally? How far does your Christ likeness go?

1 Corinthians 11:1- “follow me as I follow Christ.”

How far does your followership go? Is it just in speech when you preach or teach or is it reflected in how you live?

I know we are to point people to Christ. But surely we are meant to be more like tour guides and not as a travel agent. Surely we are not just meant to be like sign boards that point people to the way but never go the way ourselves.

Surely we are meant to be examples of believers in our speech, behavior, love, faith, and by being pure. (1 Timothy 4:12).

I guess I’m just thinking our Christlikeness, our formation in a Christ is an essential part, not secondary to the work He has called us to.

I write this not to condemn us but to cause us to pause, to reflect, to ensure we let the Word of God work in us what He wants to do through us so that after we have preached we do not become cast aways.

Happy birthday to my darling aunty Yemisi Egwu.
As a family we can’t speak of our testimony without speaking about you! Thank you for being an example of a believer, for being a witness of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Thank you for being devoted to Him.

On a personal level, thank you for every lesson you taught me as a child and for your example that sticks with me as an adult.

I love you dearly ma! Happy 60th birthday to you ma.
