To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.

The foundation of the Boys & Girls Club is made up of programs that focus on five core areas: Education & Career Development, Character & Leadership Development, Health & Life Skills, Sports & Recreation Fitness, and the Arts. Some of the key programs include: Positive Action, Power Hour, S.M.A.R.T. Moves, Delta Dental's Smart Smiles, and Targeted Outreach.

During a recent Girl Scouts activity, our Smart Girls participants got hands-on experience learning how to fly drones. They learned about drone safety, practiced using remote controls, and worked on proper takeoff and landing techniques.

For many of our members, experiences like this are an opportunity to discover an interest they may not have explored before. From technology and problem-solving to confidence and curiosity, this activity gave our girls plenty of reasons to keep reaching higher. 🙌💫

We had some serious talent on display at the BGCVP Gloucester Unit! 🎤💃

A recent Friday assembly turned into a celebration of creativity and confidence as Club members took the stage for a talent show and dance-off. From impressive performances to energetic dance moves, our kids had the chance to show off what they can do while cheering on their friends along the way.💙

Our Club members recently took part in the Badges for Baseball program through the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, combining time on the field with important lessons about respect, teamwork, leadership, inclusion, and making positive choices.

The program also gave youth an opportunity to build positive relationships with law enforcement officers and community partners in a supportive and encouraging environment.

We’re grateful for programs that give our kids the chance to try something new, build confidence, and learn skills they can carry far beyond the baseball field. ⚾️💙

There’s something special about bringing our Club, families, and community together! 💙

The BGCVP Peninsula Unit celebrated National Night Out with an evening full of good food, games, and plenty of fun. Families enjoyed a cookout with hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and candy, while members could make necklaces, play Music Bingo, and show off their skills during basketball drills. 🏀🎶

Events like this give us a chance to connect with the people who make our community so special. We’re grateful to everyone who came out and helped make the evening such a great time!

Summer fun was in full swing at BGCVP! ☀️💦 Club members went all in during Splash Bash, enjoying water activities and inflatables, fishing-themed games, and plenty of snacks to keep the fun going. We even had a visit from local fire trucks, giving our members the chance to explore them up close and learn more about the people who help keep our community safe. 🚒

We’re excited to share that Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula has received a $40,000 Taco Bell Community Grant to support our workforce readiness programming for teens!

This funding will help us continue preparing young people for life beyond high school through career exploration, job readiness, skill-building, and opportunities that help teens build confidence and plan for their futures.
