SRO Sanchez and SRO Winters spent the past week at the North Carolina Association of School Resource Officers Conference in Wilmington, NC. For 400 SROs from all over the state attended this training conference. Many topics such as Threat and School Safety Assessments, Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder, reviewing the Parkland School Shooting, Brain Trauma & Development, and many more! Also NC LT. Governor Mark Robinson came to speak!

SRO Hicks was recognized at the Avery County Commissioners meeting last night for successfully reviving the DARE program back into our schools! We are extremely proud of his dedicated service to our children!

Please come out and donate! Each blood donation is $20 to the Avery County Sheriff’s Public Safety Cadets Unit 828! That’ll help the program with much needed funding for their upcoming competition!

Due to a conflict with Grandfather Mountains Memorial Day Weekend plans we are moving graduation to Thursday, May 27th at 5:00 pm. Graduation will still be held at McRae Meadows and all Seniors will graduate in one ceremony. Rain date will be Friday, May 28th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
