The Summer Children’s Feeding Program is happening tomorrow, June 17th, Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last!

The first week we served many families, and last week that number doubled. We are incredibly thankful for the support of our county commissioners, county employees, and both adult and youth volunteers who help make this program possible.

We know there is a significant need for access to food in this area of our county, and we are grateful for the opportunity to help meet that need. The program is set up as a convenient drive-through or walk-up service.

We look forward to another Wednesday of supporting our community and serving local families!

Oklahoma Wheat Crop Update β€” June 9, 2026

Oklahoma wheat harvest is moving fast, but low harvested acres, drought stress and recent rains are shaping what producers and elevators are seeing across the state.

In this Oklahoma Wheat Crop Update from the Oklahoma Wheat Commission, Dave Deken reports from Kingfisher County with the latest USDA NASS crop condition numbers, Oklahoma Wheat Commission harvest estimates, yield reports, test weights, rainfall totals and drought conditions. The episode also features Ladd Lafferty, president of Wheeler Brothers Grain, and a brother-sister harvest crew from Beckham County working fields near Amorita in Alfalfa County as Oklahoma farmers push through a challenging 2026 wheat harvest.

This week’s update covers:

β€’ Oklahoma winter wheat condition and harvest progress

β€’ Why harvested acres are lower than expected

β€’ Yield ranges from western, central, northern and northeastern Oklahoma

β€’ Test weight trends before and after recent rains

β€’ Rainfall totals that slowed harvest across much of the state

β€’ Ongoing drought conditions and their effect on the crop

β€’ A look at custom harvesting, family teamwork and farmers moving north to finish the crop
