Our “Tattoo the Teacher” Student Council fundraiser came to an exciting end this morning with a school assembly full of laughter as students watched some of our willing teachers get covered in temporary tattoos. During this week’s Safety Patrol workshop, Lauren and Kayla from Newington Youth Services hosted an engaging workshop called Just Journal. Students learned about different types of journaling and the many benefits journaling can have for mental health, self-expression, and reflection. We were excited to have more than 35 fourth grade students attend! Each student received a journal, pen, and stickers to take home and continue their journaling journey. Lauren and Kayla also shared information about the programs and opportunities available through Newington Youth Services at the middle school. Thank you to Newington Youth Services for such a meaningful and fun experience for our students!

Good Afternoon. Due to the impending blizzard Newington Public Schools and Offices will be closed on Monday February 23rd, 2026. All Adult Education and evening activites are cancelled and additionally the Board of Education Meeting scheduled will now be held virtually. Please stay safe.

Newington Public Schools- 2 Hour Delay-January 27, 2026

Good Evening Parents, Guardian, and Staff,

Due to the volume of snow that has fallen in our area, NPS will have a 2 hour delay tomorrow, January 27. Additionally, it is important to note that there are piles of snow in parking lots that may limit parking and some visibility. Snow appropriate attire and footwear is highly recommended.

Finally, for students who walk to school, please be advised that there are piles of snow that may impact driver visibility. Additionally, since residents are responsible for clearing their own sidewalks, it is highly likely that most will not be cleared tomorrow. If you are unable to transport your walker to school tomorrow, please advise them to be very cautious on their way to school.

Please exercise caution in all your travels tomorrow morning.
