***FLASH FLOODING RISK LEVELS! PLEASE SEE OTHER POST ABOUT PRECIP. AMOUNTS***

Today and into tonight, a large swath of New Jersey is under a Moderate chance of seeing flash flooding. We can expect to see multiple flash flood warnings today and into tomorrow. Be weather aware and avoid flood-prone roads—Turn Around, Don’t Drown!

The National Weather Service defines four tiers—marginal (5%), slight (15%), moderate (40%), and high (70%). These percentages represent the chances of flash flooding criteria met within a given 25 mile radius of a given point on the map.

***New Jersey at risk for SIGNIFICANT flash flooding. SHARE this post if you know someone in the risk zone.***

Significant flash flooding possible tonight across the state. A slow-moving cold front will sweep in this evening—and there is increasing concern that it may stall while dumping heavy rates of rain. Wherever it hangs up is where we’ll see the heaviest rain, with multiple inches possible in just a few hours. That puts everyone from Cape May to the Hudson on high alert for flash flooding! Be mindful: streets, underpasses, and low-lying areas can flood faster than you’d expect.

**Avoid flooded roads**—if you see water, turn around, don’t drown. Keep your phone charged, stay tuned to local updates, and share this to warn your friends and family! 🌧️⚠️

***SHARE TO ALERT YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY***

NJ Heat & Storm Alert! Today, most of New Jersey is baking under an Extreme Heat Warning from 10 AM to 9 PM, with heat index values soaring into the dangerous 100–105°F range—conditions that can lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke rapidly. But don’t pack away your rain gear: isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are likely this afternoon into the evening (3–9 PM), bringing risks of damaging wind gusts, hail, and brief flash flooding. Stay hydrated, take frequent indoor breaks, secure loose outdoor items, and keep your weather apps handy—then hit that share button to warn your friends and family!
