Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms, grandmothers, bonus moms, pet moms, and mother figures in our community! 💐❤️

Today, we especially want to recognize the moms within our department, the moms who support our members, and the families behind every volunteer firefighter and rescue member. Being part of a volunteer department often means missed dinners, interrupted holidays, late-night calls, and time away from home, and that sacrifice is shared by the entire family. We know it’s not always easy, and we are incredibly grateful for the patience, support, and understanding you give so selflessly.

Thank you for everything you do behind the scenes to help make our department and community stronger. We hope today brings you all the love and appreciation you deserve.🤍

‼️It’s bridge washing season‼️

🧼Tonight, a few of our members started washing bridges in Williamsville, South Newfane and Newfane. Over the next few weeks, they will wash all of the bridges in Brookline and Newfane!🧼

This is an important contribution we make to the towns we serve.

Cleaning bridges yearly will:

✨ Extend paint life

✨ Extend bridge life

✨ Remove debris that can cause deterioration

✨ Allow for better drainage

✨ Help the deck dry

This also provides a great training opportunity to our new members and junior fire fighters!

Update: Fire knocked down, currently keeping an eye on and hitting hot spot’s.

Update: active brush fire caused by tree on wires. Rush on GMP. Crew is unable to touch fire until power is turned off.

Update: additional units requested from East Dover and Dummerston, as our members are also currently on scene at a Dart landing at Onyon field.

Crews are currently responding in the area of 79 Timson Hill Rd for a reported brush fire.

Please avoid the area to allow emergency crews to work safely and efficiently. As a reminder, fire danger remains elevated, do not burn outdoors until conditions improve and restrictions are lifted.

Today, May 4th, we recognize International Firefighters’ Day.

This day honors the men and women, past and present, who have dedicated their lives to protecting our communities. We remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and we thank those who continue to answer the call, day and night.

From structure fires to medical calls, motor vehicle crashes to mutual aid, firefighters stand ready, often in unpredictable and dangerous conditions, to help others on their worst days.

To our members, our neighboring departments, and firefighters everywhere: thank you for your commitment, your sacrifice, and your service.
