Nothing like a beautiful evening to get some water moving! 🚒💦
Our crew spent some time out tonight working on drafting training. Utilizing our portable tank, the firefighters practiced sourcing water efficiently to keep the pressure up and the lines charged.
Constant training like this ensures that when the call comes, our operations run smoothly and seamlessly.
Big thanks to everyone who came out to get their hands dirty and keep our skills sharp!

**THIS POST CONTAINS OUTDATED INFORMATION.**

Showers and isolated storms return to the region later today and tonight. A few storms along and southeast of a Wayne to Sheldon to Windom line may be strong to severe. However, confidence is low due to morning clouds and uncertainty in how much the atmosphere recovers. Ping pong ball sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts are the main threats, although a tornado cannot be ruled out. Thunderstorms may produce heavy rain, with isolated flash flooding possible.

🌧️ KNOW THE DIFFERENCE: Flood Alerts
With the recent weather patterns, it’s important to understand the different levels of flood alerts. Being prepared and knowing when to take action can make all the difference for your family’s safety.
Check out the guides below to help break down the terminology used by officials:
🟡 FLOOD WATCH: Be Prepared
* What it means: Flooding is possible in our area.
* Action: Stay tuned to local news and weather apps. Have your emergency kit ready and be prepared to move to higher ground if necessary.
🟠 FLOOD ADVISORY: Be Aware
* What it means: Flooding is not expected to be severe enough for a warning, but it could still cause significant inconvenience or become life-threatening if caution isn't exercised.
* Action: Use extra caution when traveling and stay alert to changing conditions.
🔴 FLOOD WARNING: Take Action!
* What it means: Flooding is happening now or will happen very soon.
* Action: Move to higher ground immediately. Never drive through flooded roads—"Turn Around, Don't Drown!"
🚨 FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY
This is the highest level of alert, issued for exceedingly rare situations when a severe threat to human life and catastrophic damage is occurring. Do not travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.
Stay safe, Newell! Follow us for more updates and visit local official sites for real-time notifications.
